“Vocația mea, filmul” – the workshop for teens returns for its 4th edition

Jeunes Mères,” the newest film by acclaimed filmmakers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, screened last night as a national premiere, opening the 22nd edition of the ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival. More than 4,000 spectators attended the event.

Festival director Miruna Berescu spoke at the opening gala about the constant support of the audience and the community of Sfântu Gheorghe—represented again this year by the vocal group “Ciornii Morii”, who performed in both Romanian and Ukrainian—adding:

“I believe passion for what you do and respect for whom you do it for are essential. We are happy to be joined by an audience and partners with shared values, with whom we try to build things that last.”

One of this year’s initiatives brought “Sanovan Caravan. Mobile Medical Services” to Sfântu Gheorghe, offering free medical consultations for adults and children from vulnerable communities with limited access to healthcare, in Sfântu Gheorghe and surrounding areas, during the festival’s first two days.

Sanovan Caravan” arrived at ANONIMUL after 9,000 kilometers traveled in a year and a half, 400 pediatric patients and 800 adult patients.
We are a team of specialist doctors and residents, ready to go where access to prevention does not exist or is hindered. We use modern technology, but above all empathy. We wanted to be here for at least two reasons (not counting the film selection): our mission and values are aligned with yours, and also with one of our long-term partners—Oscar Downstream. Sanovan has been alongside us since the launch of the platform www.româniatotînainte.ro, which supports essential initiatives in education, health, and the environment, and the relationships you have built with the local community for over twenty years helped us reach a target audience with limited access to preventive medicine,” said Mihai Rănete, MD, Primary Radiology & Medical Imaging – Fundeni Clinical Institute, and founder of SANOVAN.

Vocația mea, filmul” – a social-cultural non-formal education project for young people in the Danube Delta area – reaches its 4th edition this year and continues the tradition with a program designed to stimulate and facilitate access to cultural education. Participants will meet prominent film and media professionals, including: Amalia Enache (journalist), Florin Negruțiu (journalist), Emanuel Pârvu (actor & director), Marius Iacob (Lecturer, UNATC), Bogdan Ionescu(production designer), and Dan Hurduc (sound engineer). Paula Brezeanu (Brand & Customer Experience Coordinator) – E.ON Energie România – will also speak with the students.

Vocația mea, filmul” takes place August 11–14 as part of the ANONIMUL Festival and is organized by Asociația FAMart with the support of E.ON Energie România and the Romanian Film Center (CNC).

Another initiative in partnership with E.ON Energie România is the “Creative Recycling Workshop,” aimed at raising public awareness of the need for long-term responsible environmental behavior by reducing waste and using energy efficiently. Together with production designer Bogdan Ionescu, participants will explore ways to recycle and reinvent materials selectively collected during the festival, transforming them into a work of art.

The workshop will be held friday morning at the Festival Tent in Green Dolphin Camping.

In today’s Anonimul Talks session—starting from the opening film—the discussion focused on the situation of underage mothers in Romania with journalists Amalia Enache and Diana Popescu, actress Ilinca Manolache, doctor Mihai Rănete, and Andrada Cilibiu, feminist activist at Centrul FILIA. Other topics included women’s safety, sexual harassment, legal frameworks, and initiatives that could improve current realities.

The next talk was scheduled for Thursday, August 14, with director Nadav Lapid, alongside Miruna Berescu (producer), Monica Felea (film distributor), Victor Morozov (film critic), Florin Negruțiu (journalist), and Emanuel Pârvu (actor & director), discussing the role of the artist, starting from the film “Yes.”

The festival program features two short film competitions (Romanian and international), a feature film competition, and out-of-competition screenings. All events will be attended by members of the production teams and presented both in the open-air cinema in the camping area and in the halls at Green Village.

The 22nd edition of the ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival takes place August 11–17 in Sfântu Gheorghe, Danube Delta.
