The program

Films are screened in the 2 cinema halls situated in the Green Village Resort throughout the day, and on the enormous open air screen in the camping area, throughout the night.

The festival programme entails two competitive sections: Feature Competition & Fiction and Animation Short Competition.

Non-competitive programmes include:

  • International Panorama- films awarded in film festivals that year, homages, retrospectives.
  • The Actors behind Camera section
  • Romanian OFF Section- screening recent Romanian feature films, medium-length and short films
  • Special screenings on ecology & global issues & special programmes.
  • Question and answer sessions with representatives of films screened within the festival, public debates with filmmakers, film critics and festival guests.

Each year, the event in the Danube Delta is followed by the ANONIMUL Retrospective, organized in Bucharest, with some 3000 people attending the screenings.

Concerts and Live Performances

Each and every night in the camping area, there are concerts and live performances before the screenings.
Projects such as Songs for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests – Lucian Ban, Sorin Romanescu, Silent Strike and Dan Basu, Tarkovsky Redux – like spirit without a shadow – Lucian Ban, Silent Strike, Dan Basu and American violist Mat Maneri, nominated at the Grammy Awards in 2006 for Best Alternative Album, and ND Tango- Marcelo Nisinman, Adrian Fioramonti, Winfried Holzenkamp and Andu Dumitrescu (visual transcript) premiered at ANONIMUL in past editions.
Nightlosers, Jul Baldovin & Old Stories, Mircea Vintilă, Plurabelle, VUNK, Șuie Paparude, DJ Gojira, Luiza Zan, and Robin and the Backstabbers are some of the artists who performed in recent editions of the festival.

2023 edition


The 20th edition of ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival will take place from 14th to 20th August 2023 in Sfântu Gheorghe, the Danube Delta.


The awards for the feature and short competition are voted by the audience.
