Press Conference ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival 2009

ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival announces the press conference dedicated to its sixth edition, Friday, August 7th, at 11.30, at the I.L Caragiale hall within Ramada Majestic Bucharest Hotel (Calea Victoriei 38-40).

ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival, the sixth edition, will take place 10th to 16th August 2009, at Sfantu Gheorghe, in the Danube Delta.

The series of concerts in the Film Village commences on Tuesday, August 11, beginning with 21.15h, with the premiere screening within the ANONIMUL Film Festival of a uniquely live experiment: Songs for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests, project performed by Lucian Ban, Silent Strike, Sorin Romanescu, together with visual artist Dan Basu, finding both the background and the inspiration in the Screen Tests of famous American artist Andy Warhol.

The almost 500 tests filmed by Andy Warhol in the 60s-70s had focused on the artist’s entourage, notorious as Andy Warhol Superstars – actors, dancers, directors, artists, people who used to go to the „Andy Warhol Silver Factory” studio. Lucian Ban was inspired by a selection of the screen-tests filmed by the the famous American artist and generated the project Songs for Andy Warhol Screen Tests, for which he teamed up with local electronic music „wonder child”, Silent Strike, and reputed guitar player Sorin Romanescu. Ambiental, IDM, electronic music and the psychedelic 60s rock, voices and spoken poestries of Allen Ginsberg or William S. Burrough over jazz music will form an unexpected combination, in this autenthic live soundtrack.

The Screen Tests have inspired multiple musical projects, filmed in the times of Velvet Underground and Nico- Lou Reed and Nico being among the ones filmed by Warhol, along with Bob Dylan, Susan Sontag and others.

The series of concerts will continue with Maria Magdalena Danaila (folk music), Ambiance Quartet (classical music) and DJ Gojira (electronic music), while on Saturday, August 15th, after the Awards Ceremony, Berti Barbera and Nicu Patoi will present their latest „string A song” album (Special guest: Jul Baldovin).
