This is the story of Kazakh Bonnie & Clyde. Young Kermek returns to his home town after serving in the military and finds out everything has changed there – the criminal gang rules the town and establishes their own brutal rules everywhere. His beloved girl Eva is lost and thrown into miserable life by the gang and Kermek himself drowns in the criminal life. But he has a dream. He wants to break free together with Eva and build a movie theater. He makes a decision to do it by any means…


Adilkhan Yerzhanov, a film director and scriptwriter, was born in Djezkazgan city, Kazakhstan, on the 7 August 1982. Adilkhan Yerzhanov is a two-time participant of the Cannes Film Festival’s Official Program (The Owners, 2014, and The Gentle Indifference of the World, 2018, Un Certain Regard Section).
