ANONIMUL Film Festival in full motion

The ANONIMUL Film Festival continued Thursday, August 12 with the screening of the two following films from the Feature Film Competition – Kino Caravan, directed by Radu Muntean (in the presence of actor Dorian Boguta) and To the Sea, directed by Pedro Gonzales-Rubio (Mexic).

In the Camping area, the evening took off with the viewing of the Polish film, featuring in the Feature Film Competition, Zero, in the presence of director Pawel Borowski.

The highlight of the evening was the screening of Teenage Paparazzo directed by American actor Adrian Grenier (HBO Entourage), followed by a Q&A session with the producer of the film, Matthew Cooke.

Teenage Paparazzo, documentary which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival at the beginning of the year, was screened for the second time in Europe, after its screening at Karlovy Vary in July 2010.

When precocious 13-year-old paparazzo Austin Visschedyk snapped a photo of celebrity Adrian Grenier (HBO’s Entourage), little did he know his life was about to change. Turning the tables on the juvenile paparazzo, Grenier stepped on the other side of the lens in an attempt to mentor a teenager obsessed with the lure of the Hollywood lifestyle. Grenier develops a meaningful relationship with his camera-clicking young friend as he attempts to reconcile their mutual exploitation. Teenage Paparazzo moves beyond personal documentary, charting a cultural revolution of celebrity obsession that may have been born in the United States but stretches across the globe.

The movie was screened in the presence of producer Matthew Cooke, who then engaged the some thousand spectators in the Camping area in a Q&A session moderated by Irina-Margareta Nistor, discussing issues such as the Hollywood lifestyle, the mutual exploitation between celebrities and paparazzi, as well as his overall collaboration with Adrian Grenier.
The American producer will also host a workshop about making docs, on Saturday, August 14th, starting from 16:00, in the Cinema Complex.

The evening’s program further introduced new Short Animation films, and the (0)07 film, Flashbacks of a Fool, starring the most recent 007 agent, Daniel Craig in the leading role, directed by Baillie Walsh.

Today, Friday, August 13th, the Feature Film Competition continues in the Cinema Complex with Foxes, directed by Mira Fornayova (Slovakia-Czechia-Ireland), while the evening is dedicated to HBO, with the premiere screening in Romania of the biographic film Temple Grandin, nominated for no less than 15 Emmy Awards (directed by Mick Jackson) and the The Shukar Collective Project, directed by Matei-Alexandru Mocanu.

The 7th edition of The ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival is organized by the Anonimul Foundation, with the support of the National Ministry of Culture and Patrimony, the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism, the Romanian Cultural Institute, the Tulcea City Council, the American Cultural Center and the National Romanian Television, associate producer.
